Joshua and I have been together for a little over three years, and boy those have been the best years of my life. You know that song: “It goes down in the DM!”
It did go down there for me!
Okay, here’s how it happened.
Three years ago, on my 27th birthday, I posted a pic on Facebook and as usual the likes and the comments kept pouring in. Throughout the day, there were so many comments and direct messages on all my social media accounts that it was almost impossible to keep up. I was literally walking on sunshine all day as the calls, messages and attention I received made me feel like a queen.
As I lay in bed that night, my bones weary and my body exhausted from the day’s stressful activities, my phone chimed.
I opened the message. It simply read “Happy Birthday Beautiful.”
I looked at the sender and I didn’t know who he was. But since the message was so sweet, I smiled and replied, “Thank you.”
Then a response came immediately. “Hope it was happy indeed?”
“Yes, it was,” I replied.
That was how the conversation kicked off.
From that night, we chatted every single day, talking about everything and anything. We became fast friends, exchanged phone numbers, talked every day, hung out almost every weekend and our friendship slowly became a relationship.
Joshua later confessed to being a secret admirer from afar, He claimed he’s been carrying the torch for about two years before he finally chatted me up.
With each day that passed, we got to know each other intimately. The reality of the man Josh was literally blew my mind. I found myself wondering where in the world he had been all my life and why it took me so long to find him.
Two days ago, he asked me to share forever with him and I whole-hardheartedly accepted.
I will forever remain indebted to Mark Zuckerberg because without Facebook, I would never have met the love of my life.
Thank you Mark!!!
