GOALS AND GRATITUDE

The year is slowly winding down and I’m looking at the calendar wondering where the months went. It seems like yesterday when we ushered in the new year, oh boy!

With the end of year approaching comes the need to take a retrospective look at the past twelve months. The highs and the lows, the achievements and accomplishments, the failures and losses, the broken resolutions and unmet goals. Now is the time to look back on all that we had planned and take stock of how far we have come.

In taking stock, it is easier to see the failures, the pitfalls, the closed doors, the rejected letters, proposals, and so much more without taking a second to look at all the accomplishments.
Progress is progress no matter how small, as long as you are taking steps, you are making progress which is an indication of success.Take a minute to look at all you achieved and be grateful, even though that is not where you would love to be.

Don’t judge your progress with someone else’s yardstick. Understand that at your best own pace and in due time you will get there. It’s like the popular saying goes “slow and steady” wins the race.

Also take the opportunity to figure out what went wrong and why some of the goals you set out to achieve at the beginning of the year didn’t work out as planned. Figure it out, so you can do better in the coming year.

Cheers, to the rest of the year.
