Our cover girl Omotola Jalade Ekeinde in an interview with Hip TV, condemned the ban of the controversial new movie, 50 Shades of Grey.
While acknowledging that the movie contained scenes of nudity and sex, she also said it was obvious the movie was targeted at a mature audience, besides if anyone chose to watch the movie, it was their decision while the cinema houses should only ensure that children below 18 do not see the movie.
A group of friends whom we spoke to seem to agree with Omotola’s condemnation of the ban but from a different perspective. All but one said there was nothing pornographic about the movie that should have warranted the ban. They made references to movies like 9½Weeks, Fatal Attraction, Original Sin and Basic Instincts, which they say were all more sexually explicit than Fifty shades of grey.
50 Shades of Grey was a disappointment as I expected so much more. It was tame and boring. While watching it, a friend exclaimed that I should wait to see the soft porn in a particular scene and I saw nothing.
The part where she took off her underwear, I was expecting something and there was nothing
While Kola insisted that he saw no reason for the ban.
However, Kate who is yet to see the movie says she has no plans of watching it based on the reviews that she has gotten.
Have you watched Fifty Shades of Grey? What did you think about it? Would you watch it if the Nigeria Film & Censors Board unbans the movie?
